I am probably what you would describe as an adult trying to distance themselves from a divorced parent. Ironically they divorced wheni was very young, and up until a couple of years ago didn't feel like the victim and thought I had come out unscathed. That is until my own marriage announcement bought out the worst in my father and a lot of previously unfelt emotion in me. Whilst I won't go into the detail, when the parent child relationship is the wrong way round it can cause all kinds of issues. Sometimes distancing oneself feels like the only way to protect your own "being" from the emotional blackmail that can still occur even many years later.

Hi, I really enjoyed reading this into to what the Hoffman Process entails -- there are surprisingly few on the web. The other one I liked on Hoffman was this one from Marcelle Pick at Women to Women... How the Hoffman Quadrinity Process works . Also, here is an interesting research study from UC Davis on the Hoffman Process -- http://www.hoffmaninstitute.org/process/research-results/index.html

I love your meditation upon Mary Oliver's poem about the grasshopper. The poem brought back memories of grassphopper catching when I was very young. Oliver does not mention the tobacco they leave on your hands.
As for my life, I agree with what you say. What am I doing? I'm sure I have missed many opportunities for good. But I am trying.

I have been separated for 2 years .... I did not know that when I left my husband that I would lose my children also. I am not perfect and I made mistakes but I love my children, but they hate me. Life is really not worth living if your family does not love you

I'm all for a positive approach. And it excites me no end after reading about what you've experienced from the Tony Robbins seminar. I like it when you said that mastering our body means optimizing health, fitness, body size and energy. I'm looking forward to being in such a seminar!

Here's an announcement from one of our visitors:
Sufi-Dari Books (An imprint of Sophia Perennis) announces the Publication of
The Quatrains of Rumi
by Jalâluddîn Muhammad Balkhî-Rumî

ISBN 978-1-59731-450-3; $25.95, £19.50

Translated by Ibrâhîm W. Gamard andA. G. Rawân Farhâdî

It includes the first complete English translation of the Quatrains -- over 700 pages -- based on the Persian of the original, complete, and uncorrupt Forûzânfar edition. It includes Islamic mystical commentary; it is translated with close attention to Rumi’s idiomatic usage, with the collaboration of scholar from Afghanistan, whose native Persian remains close to Rumi’s own.

The “version-makers” of the poetry of Jalâluddîn Rumî have helped to make him perhaps today’s most popular poet in the English language, but the author objects to the portrayal of Rumi as a “universal” mystic who had somehow “transcended” Islam.

Ibrâhîm W. Gamard and A. G. Rawân Farhâdi have labored to demonstrate that Mawlana’s universality is inseparable from the depth of his Islam.
